Craig Burgwardt has his roots deep in the Southern Nevada desert. Craig was born and raised in Henderson,
Nevada just a stones throw south of Las Vegas. Craig began his artistic endeavors at a very young age in oils.
It quickly became apparent this was the field in which he wanted to spend his life pursuing and refining.
Showing and winning awards year after year in the prestigious Boulder City Art Show, Craig continued to work through
high school to fine tune his talent. After four tedious years of fine art, photography, design and communication classes
at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon, and shortly after selling out his senior thesis in watercolor, Craig was
rewarded with a BA degree in Art and a minor in communications. Radio, TV and modeling work followed shortly
thereafter and things were starting to look up.
Moving back to Las Vegas, Craig hired on with Dick Blick Art Materials and their new retail store and shipping
headquarters. This was a great springboard to the local art talent and designers. The keen eyes of top local freelance
designers and agencies quickly became aware of his talent and the freelance work began to flow in. Hotels, casinos,
builders, developers, ad agencies and print houses kept him busy for over 10 years in the Las Vegas Valley.
During this quality time, Craig's work went world-wide and received numerous awards in the Las Vegas and California
markets. Then, the decision was made to move to where he spent many summers vacationing with his family as a
youth, Estes Park, Colorado. As close to God's Country as you can get. The air, the views, the flora and fauna. The
perfect backdrop for fine art and creativity.
This is also the place where Craig met his wife, Cherie, during the 1991 Arabian Horse Show when he was working at
the Estes Park Fairgrounds. Marriage and a beautiful daughter named Calli Alexis soon followed and they have been
his stronest supporters ever since. From 1990 until the summer of 2007, Craig spent as much time as possible hunting,
fishing and camping amongst the peaks and valleys of the Rocky Mountains. This is what inspires him to produce...
and produce quality.
In September of 2007, Craig relocated his family to Waynesville, NC. as it was time for a change ... and to persue new
personal goals as well as some of his favorite things that combine his hobbies and professional abilities. NASCAR, fine art,
and once again beautiful mountains, have all contributed to the allure of the Waynesville area. Craig is looking forward to
continued success as he explores this newly-discovered part of the United States.
As time allows, Craig can be found putting brush to canvas using the surrounding mountain peaks and valleys as inspiration
for his subject matter. His fine art originals, giclee and lumira prints are available for purchase by calling his Waynesville, NC
studio at 828.926.1367. He is committed to producing the finest work available. His understanding of the creative needs
and the quick turnaround times attributed to his talent keep them coming back time and time again.
Craig uses both Mac and PC platforms working in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and QuarkXPress. Traditional and digital
photography, along with transparent and reflective scanning capabilities round out a perfect spectrum of artistic needs.
If the need ever arises for quality art or photography of any kind, please feel free to contact Craig Burgwardt...
the result will be sure to please.
